Dennis Ritchie Dennis Ritchie was a famous American computer scientist. He is one of the inventors groups of the famous computer programming language C and the UNIX operating system. He was born on September 9th, 1941. For his services in the field of computers, he was awarded with the famous Turing award. He had also achieved the National Model of Technology award. He retired as the president of System Software research and development in the Lucent technologies in 2007.

Dennis Ritchie was born in the Bronxville city of New York state in America. He had secured degree from the Harward University in the fields of Physics and Mathematics. He worked in Bell Labs since 1967 till his retirement. Ritchie had achieved good name and fame as the inventor of programming language and as the one of the members of UNIX operating system developers. Also Dennis Ritchie wrote a book on C programming language with the help of his partner Kernighan. His book on ‘C’ language also became popular worldwide.
