Earth is protected by ozone layer. Ozone layer protects the earth from ultraviolet rays. Ozone layer absorbs more than ninety percent of the ultraviolet rays. Dobson meter is the device that is used to measure the thickness of ozone layer. Dr. GMB Dobson who was a geophysics scientist belonging to United Kingdom has invented Photo Electric Spectro Meter in the year 1928. This device is called Dobson meter after his name. Ozone layer is getting damaged presently and to estimate the damage, Dobson meter is very useful.
