Earth Experienced Many Ice Ages since Its Formation | Pollution May Lead To another Ice Age
Since the formation of earth to till now there were many ice ages. In those some lasted for some hundreds of years and some others lasted for thousands of years. The last ice age lasted for sixty thousand years. This age started last 70,000 years before and ended 10,000 years ago.
In the time of ice age, earth was colder than now. Not only near poles and on high mountains but normal surfaces were also covered with ice. Most of the land was covered with the massive glaciers, ice plates. Sea level was lower than now. With all these, there were many changes on the earth. New lakes were formed, rivers changed their directions. After the ice age was ended land erosions occurred in many places.
The ice age will starts when the atmosphere of the earth returns the heat that comes from sun in large amount then the weather will become cold and temperature reduces. Scientists are saying that the atmosphere on earth is polluting day by day that will work as light resistant and this will lead to occurrence of another ice age.
