Tears

Tears

Tears are produced by Lacrimal glands.  These are also called the tear glands. One Lacrimal gland each is present in both the eyes.  These are in the shape of almond.  These absorb the liquids that have salts from the body.  These secret the watery layer of tear film. Lacrimal glands help in cleaning the layers in eyes and to keep the eyes moist.  The process of flowing of tears is called Lacrimation.  Many animals have the required body parts and glands for Lacrimation.  But it is assumed that crying due to emotions happens only in human beings.
