Who Introduced Bicycles as a Pollution Free Transportation?
With the Increase in the standard of living of the people, the purchasing rate of vehicles is increasing day by day which is leading to heavy traffic problems in the cities. So, finding the cities with the idle roads and pollution free air has become a dream.
Nowadays, Pollution from the vehicles is becoming highly noxious and making the situation critical for safe living. Even it is becoming inevitable for the traffic control department to avoid the traffic jams. It is possible to replace all the vehicles with the bicycles to reduce the pollution. But how many of us are really ready to appreciate this idea.
Vexed by these traffic problems, Ramesh from Mumbai got a brilliant thought and set up an organization named Fremo. Its main motto is to provide pollution free transportation to the people. By taking membership from this Fremo depot any one can hire cycles at the cycle junctions located at different places and return it back at the nearest cycle junctions after reaching the destination. For an example if you go to office daily by changing a train and a bus then you hire a taxi for going from railway station to bus stand and from there to office. But if you are an member of Fremo then you can take the bicycle from a nearest Fremo depot and go to railway station and return it at a Fremo depot and get on to the train and after reaching the station, you can take the bicycle from the Fremo depot and go to bus station and after reaching it return back the cycle and get on to the bus and reach the office.
Non renewable resources like petrol and diesel must be consumed in a planned manner. Recently an innovative commercial ad is aired in the television whose theme is to stop the vehicles at least at the traffic signals to save the petrol and it goes as follows. A boy sitting in his dad’s car says that after becoming big and start earning a lot he will buy a big bicycle because by that time there will be no petrol. And then his dad gets surprised and then realizes and stops the engine at the traffic signal.
Government of India must take strict measures to bring awareness among people to use alternatives to vehicles which helps in controlling the pollution and thus saving the mother earth from dangerous global warming.
Government of The roads must be widened with the current traffic and necessary steps should be taken by the government to setup the traffic signals in the busy areas.
Strict measures should be taken who the break the traffic rules .
