Jindo Moses

It is said in our Puranas that when Vasudeva wanted to leave Lord Krishna In Nanda’s house the sea partitioned itself and enabled Vasudeva to walk through it. Also Bible indicated the same type of story when Moses and his followers wanted to cross the sea. Though we cannot certify the truth in these stories one such wonder happens now also in Korea.

In South Korea in order to join two islands Jindo and Modo through a pedestal way, sea partitions itself twice in a year. The entire world came to know this incident when Pierre Rand, a French journalist published in 1975. In the first week of May and middle week of June this wonderful event takes place every year. The sea gets partitioned creating a pedestal way of about 40mts width and 2.8kms length. But this incident takes place only for an hour. In this hour the residents of these two islands cross the sea in large numbers and in the mid way mingle with each other and celebrate the event.

There is a historical story behind Jindo Moses incident. Once upon a time a tiger entered the Jindo island and killed people then all the people left the village but one such old lady could not leave the village and prayed the god to help her then the sea got portioned enabling the old woman to escape .

The number of tourists coming to watch Jindo, Moses miracle is increasing year by year and so the people are celebrating it with the name ‘ZINDO MOSES MIRACLE FESTIVAL’. The crackers, laser shows, traditional music, their traditional attires are all making the tourists enjoy the incident. Scientists till date are unable to give the reasons as to why at same time in the year the sea has low tides and is getting partitioned.
