Snails belong to invertebrate mollusca group.  The body of snails is very soft. They have a protective shell in its back.

  • Snails can be found all around the world accept in arctic region.
  • Snails weight nearly 10 grams.  Life span of snails is 15 years.
  • Snails move very slowly.  That is why people who walk slowly are compared to snails.
  • There are many species in snails.  Syrinx Aruanus is one species of snails that is found in Australia and these grow up to 30 inches long.
  • A sticky substance is produced from the gland that is present at the bottom of the snail’s body.
