Himalayas There are mountains around the seven continents and 5% land on the earth is covered with mountains. 75% of the countries in the world are consisting of mountains. Few mountains which are taller are there in seas also and they are born at the bottom of the ocean and they grew up. Hawaii is the best example for the mountains in the ocean and is inside the ocean for more than half of its height. Ocean Ridge is the mountain which spreads for more distance and it is present at the bottom of the ocean connecting five oceans. The length of this mountain is 80,000 kilometers. The tallest mountain on earth is Mount Everest and Olympus Mons is the tallest mountain in the solar system.  This mountain is there on mercury and it is three times taller than Mount Everest. The first tallest mountains are there in Himalayas and there is an estimation that 8% of the people are living on mountains. According to the surveys, there are more number of people in the Alpha mountains. Andes mountains are the longest mountains on the earth where as Himalayas are the highest mountains. The length of Andes Mountains is 7,000 kilometers. Himalayas are the mountains with less age and these mountains move aside 20mm every year. These mountains had moved 1500 kilometers towards Asia in the last ten million years. Everest in Asia, Mount Horn in Switzerland, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Mount Rushmore in America and Mount Fuji are mountains which stole the hearts of photographers.
