Lakes

Lakes

The climate is very hot in summer. The water in utensils in the house also gets warmer making it difficult to drink. But the water in lakes and ponds remains cool even on hot summer days. This is why people love to go for swimming in lakes, ponds and rivers. The reason why water in lakes and ponds stay cool in summer is the water layer on top of the ponds and lakes continuously becomes water vapour by absorbing heat. Heat required by water to become water vapour is absorbed from the water. Therefore the water in ponds and lakes always remain cool.
