Why are tyres black in color? | Reasons for MANUFACTURING BLACK COLOR TYRES

tyresIn the starting days of invention of tyres, black colored tyres were seen rarely. The general rubber used in the manufacture of tyres was in the brown color. So the tyres also were in the same color.  But the black color which is presently used is the unexpected result in an experiment. In 1885, a tyres manufacturing company called B F Good Rich has tried with dark color in the manufacture of tyres so that dust and dirt will not be visible clearly. They used black colored carbon material in the mixture used to make the tyres.  They observed that the black colored tyres thus manufactured, not only had difference in the color but also were 5 times more durable than the brown colored ones and from then they started manufacturing black colored tyres. The latest models of the tyres have acquired the qualities of strength and different styles but the black color is not changed.
